Now in its 34th year, the Summit County Veterans Service Commission “Veteran of the Year” program has opened the nomination process for submitting deserving, selfless Summit County Veteran nominations. Candidates for the award need to be honorably discharged Summit County residents who generously serve their communities through volunteer work, serving Veterans and the Summit County community. The Summit County Veterans Service Commissioners sponsor this event annually in honor of the late James C. Seminaroti, after whom the VOTY award is named. Army Vet Seminaroti served local Veterans after service in World War II and later helping our region support Veteran affairs, efforts and recognition programs.
